**About the role**

Reporting to the Strategic Procurement Manager, this role is responsible for 'go to market' activities, ensuring LIC receives the best possible value for operational and capital expenditure costs.

The key focus areas for the role include:

- Completing an extensive programme of 'go to market' activities, including RFP, RFQ or Auctions.
- Conducting negotiations with top 10 vendors or complex or technical categories.
- Ensuring the best price for fit-for-purpose product and services, from quality performing vendors
- Reporting and tracking benefits to ensure to programme and achievements are on track with plan
- Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders both within and external to LIC
- Managing formal Vendor Performance reviews.
- Two Procurement Staff report into this role, including a Procurement Co-ordinator who manages Projects and the Vehicle Fleet Co-ordination and a Procurement Advisor who looks after Contracts and Vendor Governance.

**About you**

You will actively partner with the business and become a trusted advisor. Your strong commercial acumen will ensure that you understand business drivers and are able to deliver real value to the business. You will also confidentially demonstrate:

- Significant experience gained within Procurement in Sourcing Specialist or Category Management roles
- Proven influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to ask the right questions, challenge and push back where necessary.
- Comprehensive knowledge and successful delivery of Procurement best practice within large and diverse organisations.
- Ability to think strategically, with an enquiring and analytical mind.
