**The Opportunity**
We have an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Engineer to deliver great work in our electronics category. This is a complex category, responsible for supply of multiple unique, custom products with varying functions and technology along with standard off the shelf products. A Procurement Engineer is responsible for ensuring consistent delivery of components to support production via component approvals, sourcing activities and advice based on technical expertise. You will be required to interact and influence stakeholders within our organisation as well as with our local and global supply chain. You will need to be adept at relationship building, communication and problem solving to deliver best outcomes for the business.
**The core functions of the role are**:
- To ensure supply of electronic components to meet production demand.
- Perform sourcing activities to ensure a competitive process.
- Analyse and test alternative components to realise cost reductions.
- Provide support to R&D and Procurement to ensure smooth implementation of business objectives.
- Assist the Procurement Engineering Manager with additional projects outside the scope of the electronics category.
**To be considered for this role, you will have**:
- A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
- Experience working in a large team environment.
- Experience managing small projects.
- Good analytical and negotiation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- SAP experience, preferably.
- Understanding of electrical compliance and regulatory requirements
- Great communication skills - written and oral.
- Effective builder of relationships.
