Commercial Collections Manager

Are you a dynamic and results-driven professional with experience in operations management and customer service? Waste Management is seeking a dedicated and proactive Commercial Collections Manager to lead our operational teams and ensure the delivery of exceptional service to our valued customers. As a key member of our team, you'll play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence, fostering customer relationships, and upholding our commitment to safety and sustainability.

**Primary Objective**:
The Commercial Collections Manager will spearhead the planning, management, and monitoring of operational activities, aligning with approved operational plans to optimize service delivery to Waste Management's customers. Your goal will be to consistently exceed contract objectives, maintain operational and financial performance, and uphold safety standards, all while enhancing the overall customer experience.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Fleet management of 30+ trucks & management of company employees and subcontractors.
- Oversee and proactively manage the implementation of operational plans, monitoring performance against contractual requirements on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Take ownership of day-to-day operational activities, ensuring their successful execution and addressing any issues promptly.
- Cultivate professional relationships with clients to provide exemplary end-to-end customer interactions and effective communication across all levels.
- Lead and represent Waste Management at meetings, ensuring contracted services and customer care are delivered to the highest standard.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient service delivery and operational outcomes.
- Monitor staff performance, safety, and work quality through regular audits, identifying opportunities for improvement and providing coaching as needed.
- Maintain compliance with health, safety, and legal requirements while promptly addressing any related issues.
- Manage operational costs, optimize routes, and prioritize cost-conscious behaviour to enhance profitability.
- Allocate employees to daily routes, communicate priorities effectively, and ensure work procedures are followed.
- Champion a safety-first culture, represent the company at health and safety meetings, and promote continuous improvement in HSE standards.
- Contribute to sustainability initiatives and support Waste Management's commitment to environmental responsibility.

**Skills, Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications**:

- Tertiary qualification in business administration and/or logistics, with mechanical aptitude being a plus.
- Proven leadership and team management skills, with experience in stakeholder management.
- Familiarity with transport, waste, logistics, or recycling industries preferred.
- Knowledge of HSE and environmental legislation, along with experience in safety management systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and exceptional communication skills.
- Valid New Zealand driver's license.
