The Collection and Requirements Manager is responsible (with support and guidance from the Intelligence Mission Director for Collection and Requirements Management) for managing the NZDF's intelligence requirements, requests for information (RFI) and multi-source intelligence collection coordination.
You will establish and maintain effective liaison and outreach within the NZDF and to other government agencies and intelligence partners, including multinational working groups. You will lead your team to collectively contribute to the outcomes of the Collection and Requirements Management Team in Defence Intelligence.

**You will be required to**:

- Review collections requirements requests, contact partners to collect the required information, and track requests from start to finish;
- Establish, maintain and manage strategic-level collection plans to support defence intelligence requirements;
- Manage the Defence Intelligence Request for Information (RFI) system, championing an integrated system across the NZDF;
- Provide guidance and mentoring to NZDF units in the utilisation of requirements and collection management systems and principles; and
- Manage the requirements and collection management staff at Defence Intelligence, ensuring performance management and development support requirements are met for those in the team.

This role is based in Wellington CBD with the option to work from Trentham on occasion. Due to the nature of the duties required for this role there is no option to work from home.
Flexible working arrangements for varied hours/days are negotiable. Occasional domestic and international travel is required.
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and Experience
We are looking for someone with an intelligence background who understands how intelligence supports NZDF outputs. You will have experience in government, military or a relevant field such as intelligence, information management, analysis or engagement.

**Ideally, you will have**:

- Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills with the ability to initiate and maintain close liaison relationships with a range of organisational, national and international partners;
- Excellent communication skills including an ability to research and obtain information from a number of sources and tailor this to meet customer requirements;
- Experience with information requirements management and collection coordination and planning;
- Experience coaching and mentoring others including the ability to review work and provide constructive feedback to ensure outputs best meet customer needs; and
- A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. strategic studies, international relations, political science) or equivalent work experience.

A full New Zealand Class 1 Driver's License is required.
