**Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role**

There’s a world of opportunities for us to explore that’s why we are incredibly excited for what the future is going to bring. This position will help and drive our Retail business to position itself in this new era of growth. We’ve always keen to driving continuous improvement, automating processes and change the process to make things simpler This leadership position will inspire and lead a team to deliver market leading outcomes across our portfolio operations which includes pricing, energy settlement, network and meter lease reconciliation and new business operations. To put this simply deliver “simple, personalised experiences powered by energy” for our customers. Exciting huh?

Essentially, this position is focused on three key factors that is, transformational leadership, value creation and risk management. The ‘how this is done is down to you (Read on to find out more about what we’re looking for). Here’s a snapshot of some other tasks;
- Lead the development and maintenance of effective processes, documentation, quality management systems, controls and effective key performance indicator (KPI) reporting.
- Effectively represent Contact in all external industry forums and with participants related to Portfolio Operations.
- Drive a team culture of innovation and constant improvement to identify and implement efficiency (productivity and accuracy) and value creation (reduce cost / increase revenues) opportunities, including through enhanced automation & big data.
**Qualifications**
**Ko wai koe - About you**

While reading this, nothing is new to you, but you still get goose bumps thinking about the possibilities. You’ve definitely ‘been there, done that’ with respect to taking high performing and specialist teams on an operational transformation. Furthermore, your personal mantra will resonate with what we are trying to achieve.
- Real world experience in leading large teams with proven leadership capabilities in driving transformational change. This will include leading a team of technical specialists in month to month process activities and driving ongoing improvements in systems, processes and commercial drivers
- Proven stakeholder management and influencing skills, for both internal colleagues and stakeholders as well as external industry participants. Effective at building positive relationships.
- Strong commercial acumen including understanding of key commercial drivers, risks and appropriate controls. Analytical mindset and capabilities to navigate large datasets. Proven process development and improvement skills.
- Preferable to have electricity/energy industry, including regulatory requirements, technologies, processes and pricing arrangements (including distributor pricing methodologies) and billing systems for electricity and gas retailing, networks and metering.
