Mō te tūnga | About the role
The Regional HR Operations Manager (North) is a key leadership role in the People Operations function within Oranga Tamariki. This role will lead a team of passionate and dedicated Senior HR Advisors/ HR Advisors providing day to day HR advice, support and services to our leaders and kaimahi across the motu.
While a key focus of the role is the development, fostering and enabling of the regional team in the provision of an effective and consistent HR services to the business; this role has the opportunity to influence and be involved in other people related projects.
The People Operations team is a key enabler for Oranga Tamariki to tailor and delvier best practise people services and solutions and is the hub of our People & Leadership function. This role will support the National People Operations function to develop and deliver innovative, effective and efficient human resources systems, processes and services ensuring the ongoing growth and continuous improvement of this team.
This role is a great combination of team leadership and management with the ability to use your Hr generalist skills in a variety of settings.

- You will be able to demonstrate a depth of generalist HR experience at a leadership level with experience navigating complex operational environments;
- Fantastic people leadership skills with an exceptional ability to coach, develop, mentor and motivate teams to deliver results who are engaged and empowered;
- Well rounded experience in leading and delivering an HR operational service function and delivering continuous improvement;
- A sound understanding of current NZ employment law and HR practices;
- A demonstrated understanding and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi;
- An understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural issues and a knowledge of tikanga Māori and Pacific people's culture.
- Experienced, confident, and credible at building strong relationships both internally and externally at all levels of the organisation, collaborating effectively with all stakeholders;
