About the role

The NZ Police Cyber Security Centre is expanding. We are seeking a highly motivated and talented insider threat advisor. A critical growing capability, the insider threat team within the cyber security centre is charged with preventing, detecting, and mitigating threats within our own technology environment. The successful applicant will work within a small team developing and leading insider threat activity across a wide range of platforms. The role is one that relies heavily on collaboration and continuously being able to innovate.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Working within a team environment to lead insider threat activities
- Supporting the cyber security centre and wider by uplifting and delivering training to identify and mitigate insider threat risks within our technology environment
- Have a deep understanding of prevention and its need within this type work
- Leading innovative ways of thinking
- Skilled in communication and collaboration with a wide range of internal and external partners
- Critical decision making and the ability to recognise and manage risk while working in a dynamic environment
- Looking after our people
- A strong sense of self awareness and alignment to Our Values

- A strong intelligence and/or cyber security background with demonstrated leadership, initiative, and innovation
- Preferably a relevant tertiary qualification (intelligence or cyber security related studies)
- A collaborative and participatory style that encourages joint working practice, information sharing and innovation
- The ability to develop and lead capability across all of Police with a wide range of stakeholders
- A high level of commitment to quality and service, with emphasis on continuous improvement and seeking excellent
- Well-developed communication skills, verbal and written
- Live “Our Values” and lead “Our Business” aspirations
- Have or be able to obtain and maintain a Government Top Secret Security Clearance

This role is set at Team Leader/Manager level, this means your key purpose is “to lead the activities for Our Business and enable people to deliver them.”
