About us
The NCSC is an integral part of the Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB), contributing to the national security of Aotearoa New Zealand. We provide technical advice and assistance to the Government and other organisations to protect systems and information from advanced technology-born threats.
We support the Director General of the GCSB as the Government Chief Information Security Officer (GCISO) who has responsibility for the New Zealand Information Security Manual (NZISM). The NZISM is the authority for what good information security practices are, in an ever-changing world. As such, the content and the way we connect it to consumers must constantly evolve.

Information Security Advisor
Senior Information Security Advisor
Principal Information Security Advisor
You will work with a team of cyber security and policy experts to help in designing, researching, updating, and writing guidance that will support the GCISO.
**Ideally you will have**:
A good knowledge of current cyber security issues and emerging technology challenges
Experience providing information security advice and guidance
Understanding of the public service IT environment and cyber security needs
Technical expertise

To be eligible for employment within the NZIC you must have been a NZ citizen for at least 10 years. Alternatively you must hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and ideally have been a citizen of UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years.
