An exciting opportunity for Senior Security Advisor within a large public sector organisation.

**Your new company**

An opportunity to work with a niche public sector body who are on a journey to enhance their security maturity and utilise new technology and tools in the process. The role is based in Wellington though the organisation is also open to those based in Auckland as the client has a large office there. You will join a high performing passionate team in this newly established role, encompassing a broad security remit across governance and cyber security incorporating security testing.

**Your new role**

As a part of their Digital Information Security Domain, you’ll be responsible for:

- Providing technical advice on the future direction and continuous improvement of the internal information security framework, systems, operations and processes
- Leading internal teams while engaging with technology service providers to improve security capabilities, by understanding current state, defining requirements, designing and implementing improvements to existing solutions and services
- Influencing, and engaging to drive best practice and information sharing across the organisation.
- Ensuring new technologies are developed and integrated in accordance with security policies, standards, and architecture.

**What you'll need to succeed**

You’ll have a passion for Cyber Security, along with:

- Prior experience in a senior information security role.
- Proven knowledge / experience of security risk management in public cloud environments, including an understanding of cloud service offerings and security capabilities, with deep expertise in Microsoft products such as M365 and Azure ecosystem security.
- A good understanding of software development lifecycle security and secure Dev/Ops and security testing.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills coupled with stakeholder and vendor management skills and the ability to mentor other members of the team.
