Enterprise Services is an organisation-wide function that supports our people to operate efficiently and safely, by providing seamless, integrated end-to-end services. The Cyber Security team is there to protect the organisation from cyber threats and provide guidance across services.
Ara Whiwhi Mahi - The opportunity
Reporting to the Service Owner Cyber Security Operations, your role is to protect IR from security threats. To achieve this, you will support the team by responding to incidents and through the development, maintenance, and enhancement of our security capabilities.

**You will also**:

- respond to security incidents by being familiar with vulnerability management, malware protection, and the common domains of information security
- drive improvements across detection analytics and automated response processes
- advise on security polices and standards and proactively identify and manage security incidents
- support our vulnerability management processes through engagement with service owners
- support supply chain risk management through vendor assessments
- generate reports on cyber security performance, keeping key stakeholders informed.

This is a business-critical role and will require your participation in an on-call roster to support out of business hours security incidents.
Please note, the internal title for this role is Technology Specialist L2.
Mōu - About you
We are looking for a motivated professional with technical skills to analyse intrusions and improve the detection effectiveness of our response processes.
To be successful in this position you will possess the following attributes, skills, and experience:

- Credibility within an ICT security operational environment and experience in a technical discipline
- Experience working and querying SIEM tools - Sentinel/KQL preferred
- Experience developing automation routines - Logic Apps preferred
- Experience working with vulnerability management platforms
- Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK framework
- Understanding of adversarial techniques and be able to translate these to detections
- Understanding of threat analysis and enterprise-level mitigation strategies
- Strong knowledge of information security practices and information security risk analysis (certifications in CISSP, CRISC or CISA would be an advantage)
- The ability to create and maintain effective relationships with key internal stakeholders and external vendors to deliver quality outcomes
