Wellington City, New Zealand New Zealand Government Full time

You may have heard of Te Waihanga. We're small (but mighty) and haven't been around long by government standards. But our job is as big as it gets, helping New Zealand get the right infrastructure, whether it's transport connections that get us from a to b, water and power connections needed to support affordable homes, or schools and hospitals that support our communities.
All this is why we need you.
We're after someone for 20 hours a week (ideally in the mornings, Monday to Friday) to assist us with providing people, culture and office support, across Te Waihanga, particularly for people managers, to create a great employee experience. You will be the “go to” person for the office and for a range of HR processes including recruitment.
The role reports to the Human Resources (HR) Manager and will be expected to collaborate with the wider Operations team and others throughout the organisation.

**Key responsibilities in the role include**:

- Administration of our recruitment processes
- Coordination of HR related activities including onboarding, training and development support; employee engagement and offboarding
- Office support and coordination including coordinating with vendors, office supplies, health & safety processes
- Operating effectively as part of a team and contribute to organisational culture

To do this, you need prior experience across the breadth of people, office and culture systems and support.
It's desirable that you have (or are working towards) a human resources qualification or related discipline.

**You will also need to be a whizz at things like**:

- building and maintaining rapport and effective and productive relationships
- communicating both verbally and in writing
- managing a busy and varied workload

In this role you will also need to demonstrate a willingness to engage with Te Ao Māori perspectives and frameworks.
Mō te tīma / About our team
Te Waihanga is what's called an Autonomous Crown Entity or, even better, an ACE. We think about the whole infrastructure system - roads, waterpipes, powerlines, you name it - and our job is to give advice and uncover the insights that can make it all work as well as it can, supporting an Aotearoa that's great for the generations to come.
Our people are smart and passionate about this stuff. Sometimes too passionate - hence the need for an expert in making it accessible to others They're friendly and, this being a relatively small organisation, it's easy to work with anyone here and to have an impact. We don't do hierarchy or stand on ceremony.
We also value our people, and it's important to us that you feel welcome, supported, and respected.
Tono mai / How to Apply
Te Waihanga supports the NZ Government Covid vaccination programme and we strongly encourage our people to be vaccinated against Covid-19.
