Trainer and Works Planner

**The role**
As the Trainer and Works Planner, you’ll be responsible for assessing and evaluating training needs for your team of trainees as well as identifying training solutions for the wider stations group by creating and delivering training plans and technical assessment, while supporting the outage planning process. Your role involves liaising with managers to determine training needs and designing effective training programs.
You will conduct seminars, workshops, and individual training sessions, prepare educational material, and support and mentor new employees. Additionally, you will provide pastoral care, technical field training support, assess training needs, and ensure trainees are on track to complete their training. Lastly, you will support content development, specialist training initiatives, and the Trades Cadet programme.
You’ll report to the Planning and Training Delivery Manager and will be a part of an amazing team who are committed to creating a positive and supportive work environment where collaboration is highly valued.
You will need to demonstrate the following:
- Deal with Project Managers, Operations Team, All Supervisors, Contracting Team as well some External Parties
- Active collaboration in field-switching activities with our team, also with Operations & Works planners is crucial to ensure the safe, efficient, and effective delivery of work
- Provide technical support, scoping, and planning assistance
- Manage training budgets, conduct evaluations, and monitor employee performance

**About you**
Ideally, you’ll have some knowledge and experience with SharePoint and Learning management systems as well as training background. You’ll also need to have the ability to organise and plan own workload while delivering positive outcomes without compromising health and safety. We are looking for an individual who can demonstrate the following:
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Great computer skills, with proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Project
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience working in a multi-cultural environment
- A strategic thinker with the ability to solve problems and make decisions
- Ability to motivate and influence others while demonstrating integrity and trust
- Electrical Registration with practising licence(s)
- Full Clean Driver’s License
- Knowledge of relevant Codes of Practice, Policies, Standards, Work Procedures, Legislative requirements, and the relevant Parts of the Safe Manual - Electricity Industry (SM-EI)
- Current Workplace Competency (WTC)’s including Maintenance Switching & Substation Maintainer Competencies
