A permanent opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled International Student Support Officer to join our Auckland Team in a full-time capacity. Reporting through to our Auckland Campus Director this position is a pivotal role within our organisation. As a Student Support Officer at EIT | Te Pūkenga, you will play a key role in providing essential support to students ensuring that international students have access to accurate and appropriate advice, care and onsite provisions.

**Key Responsibilities for the role include**:

- Provide and coordinate support and/or advocacy to individual international students to enable improved opportunities of academic and experiential success.
- Provide high-quality relationship-focused service to internal and external customers including all international students at Eastern Institute of Technology.
- Organise, run and manage events that improve the student experience in the Auckland Campus.
- Develop and action projects to improve the support systems offered and ensure that EIT remains at the forefront of international student education.
- Lead community engagement and networking activities for the EIT international student body.
- Manage the student support budget for the EIT Auckland campus.
- Work closely with the Senior Administrator of International Business Operations to ensure consistency of student support delivery.
- Act as the shared (24/7) emergency contact for international students.
- Ability and experience in designing, developing and providing support strategies and processes to international students in the tertiary education environment.
- Significant experience and ability in support of international students.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural setting and sensitivity to the needs of international students.
- Excellent cross-cultural communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to quickly establish rapport and credibility.
- Ability to assess international student learning support needs in a culturally and linguistically sensitive manner.
- Demonstrated qualities of initiative and problem-solving.
- A demonstrated customer-focused approach.
- High level of skill and awareness in international language and culture.
- Proven experience in counselling, training or advisory roles.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
