Tasman International Academies is proudly one of New Zealand private training establishments. We have been operating in the tertiary education sector since 2003. Our programmes aim to provide the most up-to-date and relevant courses to meet the demands of students and employers. We are looking for a full-time student liaison officer to join in our busy team in Auckland.

Main duties of this role:
1. New students’ arrangement (with Marketing and Student Support Managers)
- Working with program and student support managers to assure complete student academic documents required
- Entry test or cross credit from previous school (NZQA compliance) and academic profile arranged to the lecturer
- Working with program and student support managers for new class allocation
- Orientation: course outline, student handbook, lectures, study material, assessments, attendance, rules and policies

2. Academic Administration (with Academic Team Leader)
- Lesson material distributed and collected
- Copying, collating written and printed material
- Assistance with preparing teaching materials
- Study Result reporting
- Monitor assessments finished and marked by due date
- Result recording / reporting to students
- NZQA reporting online
- Liaise graduate ceremony regularly
- Managing electronic and paper-based student management systems and maintain accurate academic records
- Collating students' final results from the teachers and making achievement data entry to student management system (Enrolpro).
- Collating and archiving hard copies of student assessments and academic materials from the teachers.

3. Student Consulting
- Be responsible for all international student service, such as counseling in conjunction with other departments of the academies.
- Providing advice to students on course-related matters.

4. Research
- Collecting data pertaining to all academic areas
- Conducting data collation of unit-related results such as course completion rate, qualification completion rate and retention rate
- Liaises with Senior Management Team for data analysis and provide recommendations to the management for continuous improvement

5. Pastoral Care and Student Sport
- In conjunction with the Student Support Manager ensuring effective implementation of student support systems

o With Student Support Manager and Program Managers co-managing self-assessment plan for student support

o Working closely with Principal, Program Managers and teaching staff to provide guidance and pastoral care to students.
- Be available to students at regular times including before classes, during lunch break and after classes.

6. Monitor student attendance (with Program Managers and Student Support Manager)
- 90% or above as benchmark, weekly review with lecture and marketing staff
- Working closely with Attendance and Under-18’s Officer to ensure code of practice compliance
- Policy of regular no showing up conducting

7. Monitor student feedback
- Deliver student questionnaire regularly and make reports accordingly.
- Arrange student exit talk when graduate.
- Accepts internal staff referrals to follow up concerns with individual students.

8. Any other duties the employer reasonably may require employee to perform

Pay rate: min $29.66 / hour max $31.61 / hour

Guaranteed hours of work per week: Minimum 30 hours

Requirements of this role:

- NZQF Level 4 qualification, or three years of relevant work experiences
- Be a strong relationship builder, displaying evidence of stakeholder management
- Show strong written and oral communication skills
- Be personable in nature and have the ability to use persuasive language confidently
- Excellent attention to detail, planning and organisation and self-management
- Ability to expertly navigate conflict resolution and escalation
- Be confident and proactive when liaising with students and teachers
