Mō te tūranga | About the role
As an Intermediate Consents Officer, you will be required to:

  • Provide information and advice to internal and external stakeholders
  • Prepare and present evidence at consent hearings and contribute to Environment Court processes including mediation and caucusing
  • Review work from peers, mentor junior staff and take the lead on team projects
  • Contribute to policy development and strategic direction
  • Build positive relationships with applicants, resource users, community groups & iwi.

We are seeking someone who is focused, enthusiastic and knowledgeable

You will:

  • Be a leader in resource management, with proficiency in processing resource consents and familiarity with regional and national planning documents
  • Have a strong customer focus and proven ability to achieve practical timely outcomes
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have proven success at building strong positive relationships and resolving issues
  • Work well in a team and enjoy sharing your knowledge to mentor and support junior staff
  • Be willing to step up and support the Team Leader with projects and leadership

Mō ngā pūkenga | Qualifications and experience

  • Tertiary qualification in science, resource management, planning or related field
  • At least 34 years' experience in resource management
