The role

If so, we have a sensational opportunity for you Join our renowned Building Review team at Waikato District Council and play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with building regulations.


What will I do?

  • Lead the processing of residential and commercial building consents with a team of direct reports
  • Ensure compliance with all building regulations and legislation
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering their professional development
  • Collaborate with the Building Review Team Leader to foster a cooperative and connected approach with stakeholders
  • Assist to renew and maintain Building Consent Authority accreditation
  • Empower customers to navigate regulations and legislation seamlessly

What I bring?

  • Previous experience in building control with current competencies
  • National Diploma in Building Control Surveying (Level 5) or equivalent
  • Proven leadership qualities and experience managing and developing a team
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a dedication to delivering excellent customer service
  • Strong technical knowledge of the Building Act, Building Regulations, Building Code, and other relevant standards and statutes
  • Proven ability to manage multiple highpriority tasks and take initiative
