Currency Analyst at Reserve Bank of New Zealand, Wellington

The work that the Money and Cash department contributes to is critical to our continued focus on operational excellence and integrity and leads both the thinking and the doing across issues that the Money and Cash system are responsible for.

Reporting to the Manager, Cash Operations, the Currency Analyst supports:

  • the day to day management of off-site storage and distribution, logistics, waste and recycling arrangements;
  • ensuring that inventory is managed in line with relevant policies, including the maintenance of accurate and timely records.
  • assists with Business Continuity Planning and preparedness; and
  • Administration of the Currency Management System (inventory management and workflow system) including resolving issues and user acceptance testing.

To be successful in one of these roles you'll have:

  • An effective collaborative approach that draws on the knowledge and skills of colleagues and other stakeholders, with the ability to influence to achieve high-quality outcomes
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills with a particular eye for detail
  • The ability to effectively communicate through both written and verbal means and effectively make decisions
  • A strong working knowledge of currency operations and related procedures
  • The ability to work with inventory management systems, and manage financial and cash reconciliations
  • An understanding of good administrative practices.
