GHD New Zealand's Geotechnical team is looking for an innovative and experienced
Technical Director to lead and assist with
geotechnical projects.

You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of interesting and challenging projects, whilst being empowered to deliver engineering solutions that go above and beyond the business-as-usual.

We are seeking people who proactive and collaborative, who have a team-first attitude and a strong technical foundation which can be applied to a broad range of sectors and projects.


In response to growth in our business, we are currently seeking a Technical Director to join our Geotechnical team.

This exciting position has great variety and could see you involved in
:

  • Leading and assisting technical team on a diverse range of projects, with responsibility for delivering strong technical outcomes, and managing budgets and resources
  • Preparation and review of proposals and technical reports
  • Maintaining client contact and identifying project opportunities.
  • Building effective, trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Identifying project risks and risk management.
  • Mentoring and development of junior team members.

What would you bring to the team?

  • BE Civil or related qualification, preferably chartered in New Zealand (CPEng and/or PEngGeol) or on pathway.
  • 15 plus years consultancy experience and industry experience.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite and geotechnical analysis programs, ideally including finite element modelling.
  • Maintaining client contact and identifying project opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with clients and stakeholders.
  • Welldeveloped project and time management experience, including established project management responsibilities with the ability to work independently.
  • Accomplished written and verbal communication skills.
