We have a great opportunity in Te Puni Kōkiri (Ministry of Māori Development) for an experienced Advisor to join our Office of the Deputy Secretary in the Critical Projects & Governance Puni.
Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The opportunity
The Advisor reports to the Business Manager.
The primary focus of the role is to support and advise the Business Manager, provide business support to the CP&G teams as required, and when the Executive Assistant to the Deputy Secretary is absent, you will be required to re-align and re-prioritise your work to provide dedicated executive support to the Deputy Secretary.
The core areas of focus are:
- to coordinate the Ministerial Officials meetings;
- to provide business support to the Governor General's cultural advisors; and
- to provide dedicated executive support to the Deputy Secretary in the absence of the Executive Assistant.

If you possess the following, then we want to hear from you:
ESSENTIAL
- Welldeveloped communication skills, both oral and written.
- A high degree of flexibility demonstrated selfmotivation, the ability to set objectives and establish priorities, organise work and resources to ensure priorities and objectives are met on time.
- A high level of experience working in administrative and secretarial support roles.
- A complete understanding of the importance of confidentiality and integrity.
- An understanding of the Machinery of Government and how it works.
- A high level of keyboard skills and a high level of proficiency with Microsoft packages especially outlook, word, excel, and power point.
- Awareness of the importance of professional presentation.
- Demonstrated ability to work in and as a member of a team.
- Comfort in working in a Tikanga / kaupapa Māori environment.
DESIRABLE
- A degree of fluency in te reo Māori would be desirable.
