Ko tōu ake mahi - What you'll do

The Office of the Deputy Director-General Māori Health supports Te Pau Hauora Māori | Māori Health Directorate to be the principal policy advisor to government for Māori health matters.

Te Pou Hauora Māori leads the Ministry's kaitiaki | stewardship role to ensure the Ministry is meeting its obligations to Māori under Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

In this role you will contribute to the planning and implementation of the Directorate's approach for strategic engagement and communication with key external and internal stakeholders, including iwi, hāpu and Māori communities.

Experience in strategic engagement and communications
An ability to create collaborative partnerships with relevant stakeholders
Strong written skills and an ability to take complex information and synthesise it into key messages for relevant audiences
Understanding of and commitment to improving equity of outcomes for Māori health
Ideally, competence in te reo Māori - both spoken and written.
