About the Joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand (JASANZ)

Established under a treaty between Australia and New Zealand in 1991, JASANZ provides internationally recognised accreditation services that give confidence to markets domestically and internationally that goods and services certified by accredited bodies meet established standards.

Internationally recognised JASANZ accredits certification, inspection and verification and validation bodies against a range of standards to assess their competence to ensure that confidence can be had in the products, services and systems audited, inspected, verified or certified.

The system of accreditation provides for a consistent, robust, and reliable use of conformity assessment to international standards and norms. Using internationally recognised frameworks reduces regulatory costs, increases consistency and quality, and facilitates international trade.
