The opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahi The purpose of the Manager - Infrastructure Procurement Advisory role is to manage and provide best practice procurement advisory services in support of Waka Kotahi and other agencies' infrastructure activities and investments, including procurement of professional services, capital projects, public transport, and maintenance & operations.

About you | Ko koe tēnei As well as your leadership attributes, you will need to have:

  • Strong collaboration, influencing and relationship building skills
  • Strong verbal and highquality written communication skills
  • Ability to see the big picture, learn quickly and make connections
  • High level strategic, analytical and conceptual thinking
  • Highly developed commercial acumen
  • High levels of resilience and acceptance of change
  • 5+ years' experience in managing a team of service professionals
  • 10+ years' procurement management experience working in a commercially complex environment
  • Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline, MCIPS or related professional industry membership, or equivalent experience


You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori.

You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
