**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

The Infrastructure and Investment Group (IIG) enhances the health and disability system by leading health investments through planning, prioritising, delivering, and monitoring health infrastructure projects.

The IIG manages this responsibility through several functions, including asset management, investment planning, facility design, programme and project management, service planning, and monitoring and assurance.

The IIG is looking for a Senior Advisor who understands the unique challenges of delivering high quality, succinct and consistent advice and reporting to Executive Leadership Teams (ELT), Committees, Boards and Ministers, as well as co-ordinating responses for Official Information Act (1982) requests (OIAs), Parliamentary Questions, Ministerial replies, Select Committee questions and any other information requests from Ministers. The Senior Advisor will need to form strong relationships internally, across Te Whatu Ora and externally with stakeholders such as Manatū Hauora, the Treasury, Te Aka Whai Ora and the Minister's office.

**Mōu | About you**

You will have excellent written and commnunications skills, with some political awareness and an understanding of risk. You will support the Group Manager in ensuring advice and reporting to the ELT, Capital and Infrastructure Committee, Te Whatu Ora Board and Ministers is high quality, succinct and consistent.

You will also be organised and able to co-ordinate responses for OIAs, Parliamentary Questions, Ministerial replies, Select Committee questions and any other information requests from Ministers. You will be expected to support the principal advisors with the workflow tracking and look for opportunities for process improvement.

You will have strong relationship building skills to help you build relationships across the IIG and the rest of Te Whatu Ora including the ELT/Board secretariats, Office of the Chief Executive, Central Government services, Hospital and Specialist Services, Finance, and Strategy, Planning & Performance.

You will also build relationships with external stakeholders including Manatū Hauora, the Treasury, Te Aka Whai Ora, and the Minister's office.

You will be agile, analytical and able to deal with ambiguity and changing priorities. You must be willing to share your knowledge and expertise to support the growth of the team.

**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- Tertiary level qualification in a relevant area and/or appropriate experience
- Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Good writing skills and familiarity with the Plain English Standard
- Experience in proof reading and an eye for detail
- Experience in Ministerial and Government servicing including OIAs, Parliamentary questions and Ministerial replies
- The ability to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders
- Excellent communication and organisational skills with an ability to deal with ambiguity in a calm manner.
- Strong time management, with experience in prioritising work and tracking workflow

Desired:

- Health Sector experience
- An understanding of the infrastructure life cycle and stage/gate approach
- An understanding of machinery of government requirements and guidance
- A detailed understanding of the Official Information Act (1982)
- Intermediate skills with Microsoft SharePoint
- Experience with collating papers for a Board or Board Committee
- Be polictically aware and have an understanding of risk management
