Ko wai mātou - Who we are
Education New Zealand - Manapou ki te Ao (ENZ), is a Crown Agency responsible for international education.

Our mission is to deliver enduring social, cultural, and economic benefits to Aotearoa, by taking New Zealand education experiences to the world.

We are a small agency, around 100 people, with approximately 25 staff based outside New Zealand.

This is a key role in the Government Relations team, which supports and advises ENZ on all things related to machinery-of-government.

You will be part of a close-knit team that is responsible for developing ideas and influencing policy settings across relevant government agencies, as well as supporting cross-government relationships for the benefit of New Zealand and the New Zealand international education sector.

The Team also supports ENZ's Board of Directors.
You will lead the delivery of ENZ's accountability documents and ensuring ENZ meets its obligations.

You will draft a wide variety of reports, including briefings, responses for Official Information Act requests, and regular and ad hoc reports for ENZ's Minister and Board.

In addition, you will lead the development and population of the performance information frameworks and measures that enable ENZ to effectively monitor and evaluate its non-financial performance.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Work across the business to develop and monitor ENZ's strategic performance management frameworks and measures
  • Take ownership of delivering ENZ's accountability documents, including the Statement of Performance Expectations and the Statement of Intent, and external reporting requirements
  • Guide ENZ business units in providing accurate, high quality and timely responses to ministerials, select committee, parliamentary questions and Official Information Act requests
  • Use your relationship management skills to support ENZ's capability in machineryofGovernment processes and requirements.
