Based in Wellington, the PA to the Chief and Deputy Chief Coroner - Office of the Chief Coroner is a crucial position within a busy office and an exciting opportunity to contribute to positive change in Aotearoa's justice system.


You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and smooth running of the office and providing day to day administrative support for the Chief Coroner and Deputy Chief Coroner.


This is a pivotal role where your experience, enthusiasm, initiative and attention to detail is crucial to the successful operations of the Office of the Chief Coroner and wider coronial services.


The PA ensures efficient and effective services are provided in accordance with, tikanga practices and cultural considerations, whilst meeting the expectations of the Chief Coroner, family, whānau and the Ministry of Justice.

If the following matches your skills and experience, we want to hear from you

  • You will have strong interpersonal skills that will support your work with the Chief Coroner, but also be capable of dealing with members of the public, other government agencies and the New Zealand Police.
  • You are detail orientated and observant as there are different processes and case information needs to be accurate.
  • You can manage conflicting priorities and move efficiently from one task to another.
  • An ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds is essential, as is having welldeveloped written and oral communication skills.
  • You are resilient and have the ability to deal with sensitive and sometimes graphic information and details.

Utu ā-tau/Salary**Salary Range: $56,729 to $78,441. Appointment at which step of the band will be dependant on skills and experience.
