The role encompasses overseeing clinical governance, ensuring patient safety and quality of care and providing support to all of our clinical units

  • Christchurch Womens Hospital, Te Nikau Maternity, Rangiora, Oromairaki, Kurawaka: Waipapa and Ashburton. There is also a working relationship with the commissioning team for the coverage of Kaikoura, Chatham Islands and Buller Maternity. Your expertise and guidance will be sought by our clinical leaders making this a position of significant responsibility and influence.
  • A strong understanding of, and commitment to, the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and equity as fundamental aspects of the health system.
  • Significant senior managerial/clinical/operational leadership experience with the ability to think strategically.
  • Proven experience in midwifery leadership and driving transformation while upholding patient safety and maintaining high quality of care.
  • A commitment to embodying our organization's values and inspiring others to do the same, fostering a collaborative approach to leadership throughout the health system.
  • Active member of the NZ College of Midwives.
