New Gm Learning
This well-established, privately owned and award-winning business operates across the golden triangle of locations in the upper North Island, and has also expanded into Northland.
It is the leading national provider for a multinational blue-chip brand, a position that it has held in New Zealand for a number of years.
It has built a strong reputation for delivering high quality services and outcomes for their customers. The business has a strong focus on their people and culture.
As a part of the strategic development of the business, and in response to significant planned growth, this new role has been created to work with the Managing Director and Advisory Board to set up a new business unit focused on the ongoing training and professional development of current and new team members.
This will be a hands on role, where you will be expected to set up and lead a new business, based on a well-founded business case, to ensure that the learning provided is of the very highest quality, and that it is constantly meeting the changing needs of the industry, marketplace and the business itself.
It will also include ensuring that the training facilities across the branches and the associated resources, are fit for purpose and future oriented, in terms of the skills and knowledge that will be required by the business in the years ahead.
The learning and development strategy framework will have a broad focus, covering school leavers through to experienced senior team members, and from technical job related knowledge, through to supervisory/leadership and business skills.
You will also be expected to help build the profile of the new business offering in the national and regional marketplace, so well developed networking and relationship management skills will be important for this role.
To be considered, you will need to have proven senior leadership experience in the areas of learning and professional development and/or vocational training, ideally founded working in a combination of both the public and private sectors.
It is essential that you have proven business unit management skills, and understand the requirements of working in a privately owned business with multiple locations.
You will need to have well-developed commercial and financial management acumen, along with the ability to think and plan strategically.
It is essential that you can demonstrate that you have the ability to form and sustain strong relationships with a wide range of people of all ages, backgrounds and from different cultures.
A relevant tertiary qualification is essential.
This is a rare opportunity to join a very successful business that is a respected leader in its industry, and to set up a new learning and development business unit and make it your own.
