Student learning developer in English language

You will be passionate about English language development, and work within a team that is committed to enhancing the skills and capabilities of our students through supporting student learning and improving student retention and success. You will actively contribute to major initiatives to improve students' written and oral English language skills.

In this role, you will work collaboratively with students and staff across the university, as well as with external partners. You will offer one-on-one consultations, create online and print resources, and design and deliver a range of workshops and events, as well as classroom-based and online activities. Your passion, initiative and creativity will enhance student retention and success.

Salary will be in the range of $75,000 to $95,000 per year based on skills, knowledge and experience brought to the position. This is a full-time role (371⁄2 hours a week), based on our Hillcrest Campus.

Along with your completed postgraduate qualification and excellent interpersonal skills, you will:

  • Demonstrate expertise in English language development for students at a range of levels
  • Understand recent trends in tertiary education, and how these trends impact student success
  • Demonstrate a track-record of effective tertiary teaching, facilitation, administration and pastoral support
  • Have experience working within a diverse multicultural environment and understand and acknowledge the how this impacts student learning and progress.
