Project Officer

The Project Officer is a critical role within the Project Delivery Team and will see you fully involved in the following key areas:
- Delivering on Operational and Capital construction and refurbishment Projects;
- Taking the lead on implementing the Service Housing Refurbishment Programme for up to 180 houses;
- Supporting the oversight of Facility Management (FM) contracts and contractors; and
- Monitoring the quality of work carried out and ensuring that H&S practices are adhered to.
Along with experience in successfully delivering on a range of property, facilities and/or infrastructure projects you'll bring:
- Excellent relationship management skills;
- A pragmatic approach and practical problemsolving skills;
- Confident communication skills; can work across many levels of the organisation;
- Strong understanding of current legislation, standards and industry best practise;
- Experience in setting and maintaining a high standard of quality assurance;
- A high degree of computer literacy and database management; and
- A full, clean drivers' License.
Defence Estate and Infrastructure develops, maintains and manages land and infrastructure assets to support NZDF military capabilities and all of government outcomes.
The current estate is a complex network of approximately 81,000 hectares and 5,000 buildings spread across nine camps and bases, two large land training areas and various regional locations.

- is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last five years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.
