Tēnei tūranga - About the role:
We are currently seeking an intermediate level analyst (Research and Data Analyst) to join our Māia Tourism - Evidence and Insights team.
- An understanding of survey design, sampling and analysis. In this role, you will work with Stats NZ to monitor the survey diagnostics and make an assessment on the quality of data from the International Visitor Survey (IVS).
- While a large part of the role involves analysis of survey data, the ability to interpret and communicate your findings to nontechnical users is key to being successful in this role.
- You will be involved in assessing stakeholder information needs and contribute to establishing a regular analysis and reporting framework that will increase the reported measures from the IVS to include activity, satisfaction and environmental reporting.
- You will be working collaboratively with Researchers and Analysts in the Tourism Evidence and Insights team. This is a multidisciplinary team that practices a range of methodologies to meet pragmatic and tangible solutions to support the production and development of quality tourism statistics. Skills and experience required:
- Intermediate or advance language skills in R or Python and SQL.
- Proven experience working in data and statistical analysis and survey design.
- Have two years or more experience in a similar role working on projects of a statistical or technical nature that included a large component of data analysis quality reassurance.
- Ability to create insightful visualizations and have used a wide range of evidence including data, research and other information to provide a foundation for evidencebased analysis.
