About the opportunity

Our Waitoa UHT plant is a dynamic flagship site that makes Consumer and Food Service products to feed the world.


Join us as Engineering Manager and, as a key member of our site leadership and operations team, you'll provide hands on leadership, mentoring and coaching to our highly engaged Maintenance and Services Team to enable the achievement of our engineering strategy and world class standards in health and safety, food safety and quality, asset management and continuous improvement.


You'll take ownership for maximising the output of our world class UHT lines and optimising all aspects of our asset care program throughout the life cycle of the assets.


Core responsibilities include:

  • Building a high performing team environment and fostering a culture of high engagement and collaboration with a continuous improvement focus
  • Driving Maintenance Planning and Scheduling performance improvement.
  • Optimising Site Repairs and Maintenance budget and major service contracts
  • Supporting the plant in the development and maintenance of a 10 year asset management plan
  • Delivering sustainable financial and capital management performance driven by long term strategic business and capital plans
  • Identifying continuous improvement opportunities to maximise delivery and minimize variability
  • Build long term partnerships that create value with our customers, suppliers and contractors.

About you

We are looking for an inspirational and collaborative leader, with a proven understanding of maintenance management processes, and an engineering project management background.


You'll demonstrate strong people leadership and coaching abilities and have previous experience in implementing best practice systems and processes to meet the asset care needs of a site.

Other key attributes include

  • Sound commercial acumen with previous budgeting experience
  • Strategic mindset and effective communication skills
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principals
  • A background in Dairy or FMCG would be highly regarded but not essential
  • Exposure to IWS would also be beneficial.
