We are excited to welcome a Kaitātari Whakamōhiotanga Raraunga Data Intelligence Analyst to join the Z whānau, be part of a fun, diverse and supportive squad and build your career while working on varied and interesting topics.


In this role you will support the development and delivery of data products, explore and analyse new data sources and make a real impact on growing and evolving Z's analytics journey.

You will enjoy a broad scope of work; you might be working to create insights into our people and culture metrics, providing data to understand fuel supply and distribution, investigating and validating new data sources to bring into our data model or contributing to work towards a range of Energy Solutions.


You will have the opportunity to

  • Support the design, development and build of data products to provide insights and reporting
  • Find innovation solutions using data science techniques
  • Conduct adhoc analysis and deep dives including visualization of data and data storytelling
  • Support the implementation of the data excellence framework including documentation of dashboards, data sources, datasets, and business glossary
  • Contribute to the Data & Analytics community of practice
  • Work closely with the BA, development and testing teams to ensure data specific requirements are understood, developed and tested

Qualifications:

What you'll bring to Z

  • Knowledge of data analysis, data science and data management activities
  • Experience in endtoend process of creating trusted data outputs from source data
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Curiosity to innovate and approach new ways of developing data solutions
  • Knowledge of SQL, Databricks or other data querying tools to do data exploration and analysis
  • Experience in transforming data and building dashboards and reports using a data visualization tool (e.g., Power BI)
  • Demonstrated experience problem solving providing analytical solutions
  • The ability to work both with detailed information and to also see the bigger picture
  • Strong communication skills, to talk to both technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Exposure to an Agile environment would be helpful but not essential

The base salary range for this role is $107,100 to $126,000 per annum, plus 15% bonus based on company performance, a 5% KiwiSaver employer contribution and health insurance through Southern Cross.
