It's an exciting time at Z with industry changes and our technology; joining us in this newly created role as Kaihoahoa Raraunga Umanga Enterprise Data Architect will see you take this to the next level.


Coming into this role, you'll have the opportunity to take what we already have and scale this up to an enterprise level.

Working right across Z, and with a range of stakeholders, you'll gain an understanding of and map our data flows, make recommendations, iterate, implement and maintain solutions.


This role will use your technical know-how, strategic thinking and proven ability to contribute to delivery in an environment that values data and is excited to evolve.

You will have the opportunity to

  • Develop a technical roadmap to enhance data standards and governance, in line with National Institutes of Standards and Technology cybersecurity (NIST CSF) standards and best practice
  • Design and deliver a technical strategy for how we store and create identifiers to connect data points across different systems and accurately represent the relationships
  • Work alongside our data team to formulate the plan and deliver in collaboration
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define clear goals, metrics, and success criteria
  • Refine and document Z's data architecture, including data models, data flows, and data integration strategies
  • Design data solutions that adhere to NIST CSF guidelines for data protection, encryption, and access controls
  • Establish data classification and labelling standards based on data sensitivity, criticality, and compliance requirements.
  • Provide enterprise thought leadership as well as guiding teams and squads

Qualifications:

What you'll bring to Z

  • Technical proficiency: a strong grasp of data management systems, programming languages, and data integration tools coupled with the willingness to be hands on at times
  • Excellent communication skills, the ability to convey complex concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences will be key in this role
  • A proven history of delivery, you will be tasked with both design and implementation and will need to be highly skilled in both
  • Data standards and governance expertise: strong understanding of business processes, data governance, data modelling, data security and a strategic mindset
  • A desire to learn, gather information, iterate and pivot
  • Strategic thinking, look forward to what is needed and design practical and doable solutions

The base salary range for this role is $165,000 to $185,000 per annum, plus 15% bonus based on company performance, a 5% KiwiSaver employer contribution and health insurance through Southern Cross.
