Ko tā mātou mahi - Our Role

We are seeking a Stakeholder Relationship Manager to join our team, who will support sustainable, inclusive and thriving communities through effective community/stakeholder engagement and partnerships.

This role will see you working in a fast-paced and challenging environment, engaging with stakeholders and the community.

You will be the face of Kāinga Ora in the community and instrumental in building capacity and capability within the community.

You will get to know the communities across the Waikato, closely working with local networks and organisations to ensure that the community is well informed and ensuring that community aspirations are understood.

Ultimately bringing about positive change to the community.

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu - What you will bring:

  • You'll be adept at working in diverse communities with a wide variety of stakeholders, balancing professionalism with a friendly, approachable and trustworthy manner when partnering with our tenants and the community.
  • Excellent relationship management skills across a diverse range of stakeholders, coupled with broad and extensive stakeholder and community engagement experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to confidently build, maintain and engage with local communities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, with a handson approach.
  • Demonstrated experience in dealing with conflict and negotiating.
  • You demonstrate active consideration of Te Ao Māori, Tikanga Māori, Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Māori values in your work practice.
  • Previous experience engaging with Māori communities is a must.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification or extensive experience. A relevant professional certification, such as IAP2, would be advantageous.
  • You'll have experience in a community development role, with extensive experience in best practice engagement. An understanding of, or familiarity with, Asset-Based Community Development is highly desirable.
