About the opportunity


As our Environmental Manager, you will be responsible for managing the environmental operations and compliance function of our Te Awamutu site.

You will be engaging with stakeholders across our manufacturing site establishing viable connections across the wider community.

You'll be accountable for the maintenance and development of our environmental management systems (including ISO with a focus on continuous improvement and leadership.

You'll also have responsibility for the operation and performance of the site's newly upgraded wastewater treatment and disposal operations, as well as community liaison & managing 5 direct reports.

The role is critical in managing the consents and regulation process while keeping the long-term strategy in mind.

Please note this role is a fixed term contract until June 2025 and ideally, we are looking for the successful individual to start in November 2023

About you


Coming from a strong background in environmental services around irrigation and wastewater, you will have also worked across compliance and consent.

Looking to move into a leadership role, you'll have some leadership experience but mostly have passion for motivating and coaching your team as well as performance improvement and compliance.


With a natural ability to influence diverse groups of stakeholders, you will build and strengthen key relationships across the business and community.


Key desired experience includes:

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or relevant field
  • Experience with Management Systems eg ISO standards
  • Experience in wastewater treatment operation
  • Previous experience in renewing and operating consents
