About the role

We are looking for a Principal Advisor or a high performing senior to take the next step in their career joining the Electricity Authority's Network Pricing team.

Our remit includes transmission pricing and distribution pricing.

If you want to make a difference to the incentives faced by electricity customers via pricing - critical for the transition to a low-emissions economy - then we want to hear from you.

As a seasoned professional, the focus of your role will be supporting the Director - Network Pricing in leading and mentoring the Network Pricing team, providing specialist advice on regulatory economics to the Authority and leading high-profile projects.

You will be liaising across other government agencies, engaging directly with industry, managing external experts and fronting advice to a sophisticated and experienced Board.


Are you someone with the following:

  • Demonstrated understanding of regulatory economics, network pricing, policy design
  • A proven track record of delivering highquality written work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to provide robust technical advice, underpinned by rigorous analysis
  • Previous experience running consultation processes with a range of stakeholders
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring team members
  • Work experience in electricity or the wider utility sector beneficial (but not essential)
