The Open Home Foundation (OHF) is a Christian Community Response and has a vision that every child and young person has the opportunity to grow up in a secure, loving family and receive a depth of care which will bless them throughout their lives.


Our current Advisor is going on maternity leave soon, so we are seeking a person to cover this position for a period of 6 months to start on 1 May 2023.

We are seeking a person to provide advice and support across Open Home Foundation that ensures a focus on disability and high and complex needs children / young people is being maintained in Service Centres and that practice is being continually improved.


The successful applicant will have:

  • Knowledge and experience in working with children/young people with disabilities and/or high and complex needs.
  • Experience or strong interest in working with children/young people and families in a traumainformed way.
  • The ability to form and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Understanding of contractual requirements
  • Ability to analyse and problemsolve.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate and encourage service centre staff and foster parents.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and demands.
  • Competency/qualification that enable them to become registered with the Social Work Registration Board
  • An indepth understanding of how the role recognises the special relationship between Maori and Tauiwi and strong empathy with the organisation's special character.
