Āu Mahi | What You Will Do

In this exciting role you will implement strategies that increase the impact of UC on the development of companies and ventures through engagement with local and NZ wide business communities, and innovation ecosystems.

You will work alongside a supportive and passionate team to shape the direction of UCE and you will be pivotal in guiding start-ups and businesses to turn ideas into sustainable, viable ventures which have impact: socially; culturally; environmentally and or commercially.


The aim of this role leverage the university's knowledge and resources to increase the impact of innovation and entrepreneurship on the regional and national economies.


You will maximise clients' growth opportunities through:
- development and delivery of UCE's ThincLab programme and Validator programme
- connecting with, and offering, intrapreneurship programmes to small-to-medium sized and corporate businesses, local government or other customer groups
- delivering commercialisation pathways and business growth strategy solutions
- support of, and delivery into, other UCE programmes.

Mōu | Who You Are
- the ability to understand concepts from a wide range of commercial, technological, environmental, cultural and scientific domains
- knowledge of writing strategic and operational plans and reports for business' growth
- project management experience
- managing external partnerships with established networks in the innovation ecosystem and relevant industries
- experience in business development or raising sponsorships
- significant stakeholder and contract management/monitoring experience
- experience with mentoring or coaching businesses or founders, is an advantage
- be a team player with excellent intrapersonal skills.
