Job Description:

The Role:


Pacific Island Freight Station (PIFS) is a warehouse within the NPDL group providing third party logistics warehousing and devanning services to a range of customers.

After a reshaping of our warehouse team, we have an exciting opportunity for an
Operations Coordinator. In this role, you will be managing the exports, FAK (Freight All Kinds) loading and the smooth running of our warehouse/operations on a day-to-day basis.

In addition, you will maintain systems and ensure all data is recorded in the appropriate databases enabling the delivery of world class, best practice service to our client base.

Reporting to the PIFS Manager, this role will seek to improve and add value to the standard of service PIFS provides to our customers and service providers.

The hours of work will be Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 5.30pm. Overtime and weekend work may be required from time to time.

What you will be doing:

  • Ensuring the efficient, timely and costeffective loading of FAK (Freight All Kinds) containers
  • Ensure all data and information is keyed in and kept up to date
  • Consistently monitor shipments to ensure cargo is loaded/delivered/dispatched on time
  • Ensure the efficient, timely and costeffective lodgment of customs and MPI declarations and attainment of clearances
  • Organising the devanning of containers in a safe and efficient manner
  • Liaising with customers on cargo callin and delivery and document processing including Dangerous Goods, Customs and MPI processing, verifying tallying and Container Load Plan production
  • Arranging cartage of FCL/LCL consignments to/from pack sites and ports via road/rail/sea
  • Liaison with shippers/packers/ports regarding container deliveries, uplifts, packing of goods and cargo callin


Please note that due to the physical nature of the role, the Operations Coordinator may be a required from time to time to undertake general warehouse duties therefore must have a sound level of fitness, with an ability to lift up to a maximum of 20kg.


Qualifications:

What you will bring:

  • Minimum of 2 years of warehousing experience (preferably in shipping and/or logistics)
  • Forklift, Counterbalance and Reach licences are desirable, but not essential
  • Being IATA/MPI Accredited would be an advantage, but is not essential
  • A strong and independent work ethic
  • Experience operating in a fastpaced, highly regulated environment
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate level Microsoft Office experience with exposure to inventory software, databases, and systems any experience with CargoWise would be considered an advantage
  • Experience in compliance with NZ Customs and NZ MPI requirements for bond store operations as well as in compliance with DG handling regulations
You will be great at planning and organising, have strong self-management skills, be a confident decision maker and resilient.

You are great at following up on deadlines, with an eye for detail to get the right results first time.
