We are looking for a lead Advisor in Information Management who can use their expertise to inform our Information Management Team on appropriate methods to evaluate and assess information and data management requirements.

The role leads the development of policies, standards, guidelines, and practical guidance relating to information and data management, and contributes to the information management strategy.


You will be a key enabler for our customer groups to develop and improve their access to information and their use of information systems.

The role works with owners and experts to ensure requirements including privacy, security, record keeping, data destruction, etc are incorporated into policies, standards, and guidance, and systems designers and users can process data and information in line with these requirements.


This role works closely with Manager, Information Management, enterprise architecture and cybersecurity to ensure alignment of team outputs with the enterprise architecture framework, information management strategy, and relevant security/privacy policies/etc.

ICT department supports Capital & Coast, Hutt Valley and Wairarapa Districts.

Moū - About you

Skills and experience we are looking for:

  • Proven knowledge of and experience in developing and implementing information management and data management policies and standards
  • Sound knowledge of the principles, legislations, polices and standards for managing the data and records.
  • Ability to engage, collaborate, build relationships and secure buy in from key stakeholders to support the adoption of good information management behaviours and practices across the organisation
  • An aptitude for ensuring policies, standards are adhered to, and advice and guidance given is in line with the relevant policies, the IT strategy, enterprise architecture frameworks and compliance requirements
  • An understanding of
    ICT and Clinical services would be advantageous
  • Experience in the use of administration of Sharepoint would be an advantage
