Mō te tūnga | About the role


As the Senior Advisor, Pacific position you will work directly with the Chief Advisor, Pacific to provide high quality advice to the organisation aligned to the Oranga Tamariki Pasifika Strategy, the Oranga Tamariki strategy and organisation transformation.

This support will ensure the Ministry's strategic direction, delivery, core outcomes and key impacts for Pacific children, young people and families are achieved.

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring

Key requirements of the role include but not limited to:

  • An in depth understanding and knowledge of Pacific issues, Pacific populations across Aotearoa, regional and local Pacific community issues.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal crosscultural communication skills, in engaging with intergenerational Pacific audiences, traditional and contemporary, the range of ethnicspecific Pacific community groups and regional Pacific communities.
  • Understanding and appreciation of crosscultural issues and concerns knowledge of tikanga Māori, Whaikaha and the diversity of Pacific peoples.
  • Experience in providing strategic direction and strategic advice to support social services policy.
