Ko tōu ake mahi - What You'll Do
Your expertise will be pivotal in providing thought leadership, senior policy advice, and strategic guidance on the Public Health Agency's key priorities. You will contribute to the development of engagement strategies that elevate community wellbeing aspirations, ensuring that the Pacific community's unique perspectives and needs are at the forefront of decision-making processes.
Building positive relationships will be a core aspect of your role, as you collaborate with various stakeholders, including Pacific public health leaders and communities. By fostering collaboration and partnership, you will drive impactful change and improve health outcomes for the Pacific population.
As a Principal Advisor, you will play a critical role in fostering cross-sectoral collaboration by leading engagement with other functional teams within the Public Health Agency and the wider Ministry. By incorporating public health approaches into broader activities, you will create synergies and maximize the impact of initiatives.
Your dedication to quality and excellence will be evident as you provide leadership for projects, ensuring meticulous planning and the delivery of high-quality policy advice. Additionally, you will contribute to the Ministry's policy capability by mentoring and supervising less experienced staff, fostering a culture of continuous development and learning.

- Proven strategic leadership skills that support project design, development, and implementation
- Strong relationship management skills and experience in engaging with a range of sector groups and agencies
- Significant experience in providing advice to Ministers and driving work programmes to ensure delivery of work is to the expected quality
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and working knowledge of the health and social sectors
