We are seeking dynamic, energetic Senior Regional Advisors to take a lead role in fostering and managing relationships with key stakeholders across Aotearoa. The Senior Regional Advisor will play a role in representing Government in our partnership with Māori and Pacific organisations, working together to design and deliver community-led initiatives that will support equitable employment outcomes for Māori and Pacific people across Aotearoa.

**We have three Senior Regional Advisor roles available**:

- Two Senior Regional Advisor roles to support the delivery of a new Pacific-focused fund that will enable Pacific community organisations deliver tailored, community-led initiatives that will engage and support Pacific individuals realise and achieve their potential through employment and or training.
- One Senior Regional Advisor role to support the delivery of the Māori Trades and Training Fund that supports Māori organisations try different approaches to engaging and keeping Māori in employment-focused training opportunities through initiatives that are by Māori, for Māori.

These roles are highly collaborative, and you will have a proven ability to develop and manage relationships at all levels across the Ministry and with key stakeholders. You will demonstrate the ability to work at pace to initiate and deliver smart solutions to complex problems and provide pragmatic and effective advice.

About our mahi
Sitting within the larger Employment Programmes team, our funding team is small, but high performing and work together to support the development and successful delivery of Māori and Pacific-focused employment and training programmes in partnership with Māori and Pacific communities across Aotearoa.
The Employment Programmes team deliver innovative programmes of work, heavily focused on funding and supporting community organisations to deliver wrap-around, life-changing impact for New Zealander's who need more tailored support to realise and achieve their potential.
The Employment Programmes portfolio includes Jobs and Skills Hubs across Aotearoa, and community-focused funding initiatives including He Poutama Rangatahi, Whakawātea te ara Poutama, and the Māori Trades and Training Fund (MTTF). Our portfolio is expanding, including introducing a new Pacific-focused fund, and we need some amazing people to join us on this exciting and rewarding journey.
Our funding initiatives support Māori, Pacific, and community organisations try different approaches to engaging and keeping people in employment-focused training opportunities through programmes that are culturally driven, tailored, and highly individualised.

**To be successful in this role you will**:

- Be respectful towards Pacific cultural practices, Tikanga, and Te Ao Māori with a willingness to learn and incorporate into your daily mahi
- Have an understanding and keen interest in the key issues facing the Ministry and Government regarding employment, including an understanding of key Government objectives as set out in the Pacific Employment Action Plan and Te Mahere Whai Mahi Māori - Māori Employment Action Plan
- Have a strong understanding of the challenges and barriers to employment faced by Māori and Pacific people.
- Have excellent relationship management skills, including the ability to engage, influence and negotiate on behalf of the Crown
- Have a proven ability to develop and manage relationships at all levels across Government
- Exercise strong political nous and thorough and considered decision-making and judgement
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills including the ability to present professional, clear, and concise documentation with the audience in mind, as well as excellent attention to detail
- Have a proven ability to work collaboratively and responsively in a high-profile sector
- Contribute to and support work programmes on a broad range of issues to deliver government employment initiatives
- Provide input to identifying issues that may impact on work programmes and delivery
- Possess highly developed analytical skills with the ability to provide robust recommendations
- Demonstrate the ability to work at pace to initiate and deliver smart solutions to complex problems and provide pragmatic and effective advice.

**Salary range**: $113,424.00 - $137,740.00
