Āu Mahi | What You Will Do

Specific activities include:

  • Developing and delivering computer tutorial content for Python analysis in civil and natural systems.
  • Liaising with industry partners in the delivery of field survey sessions.
  • Coordinate and manage a team of Teaching Assistants in delivery of GIS, Python programming content, and a firstyear course (ENGR102 Engineering Mechanics).
  • Ensuring all relevant software is current and addressing software/computing issues as they arise.
  • Oversee assessment of GIS and Python tutorial content.
  • BE(hons), BA, or BSc required in Geospatial Sciences, Computer Sciences, Engineering, or another relevant discipline.

Applicants must have relevant qualifications and demonstrable skills in Geospatial Sciences, Computer Sciences, Engineering, or another relevant discipline.

Applicants should be enthusiastic about teaching, supporting individuals as well as groups of students, have excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and effective time management.

The appointee must also have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. Experience with teaching or tutoring would be an advantage.

The appointee need not have experience with modern field survey techniques but must be willing and able to upskill in these.
