**Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi - About the Role**

As a Senior Academic Staff Member, you will primarily be responsible for the development and delivery of New Zealand Certificate in English Language programmes at Levels 4 Academic and/or 5 (NZ1883 and NZ1884), ensuring that the delivery of the learning outcomes is of a standard that meets/exceeds student expectations. You will lead a small team of tutors, including tutors located at other campuses and locations, and support them to deliver the programme to a consistent standard.

The successful applicant will work co-operatively and collaboratively with managers, staff and stakeholders to achieve the Department's objectives and the Ara mission, vision and values. The successful applicant may also be required to teach on degree programmes.

- A high level of proficiency in written and spoken English
- Experience in teaching Academic Writing, Study Skills and/or English for Academic Purposes to adults
- Experience in teaching ISEL programmes to adults
- Vision, innovation and a commitment to facilitating your own, and others' learning.
- Capable of supporting students to achieve their learning outcomes.
- The ability to develop and implement flexible teaching and learning methods, including the use of learning technologies
- Time management skills, including the ability to effectively and efficiently administer, organise and co-ordinate activities and meet deadlines.
- The ability to contribute to research outputs.
- Engagement with assessment and feedback processes.
- Effective communication with a diverse range of others, at all levels within and outside the organisation.
