Tēnei tūranga - About the Role:

Working alongside the PMO Manager, the Senior Delivery Governance Advisor helps to ensure consistent, timely and effective governance support to the Delivery Governance Board (DGB) and the supporting governance system to ensure projects meet the strategic needs of the business.


Senior Delivery Governance Advisor responsibilities include:

  • Leading and providing governance support for MBIE's Delivery portfolio
  • Developing and producing governance guidance to support stakeholders navigating the governance system
  • Playing an active role in supporting projects across the delivery portfolio, ensuring that project management standards and methodologies are being appropriately applied and governance procedures followed
  • Providing secretarial support to the Delivery Governance Board, including minute taking, paper reviews, managing the forward agenda and pre briefings with senior stakeholders

  • 2+ years' experience working in a SLT governance position in the public or private sector
  • Knowledge and experience in governance processes and public sector management practices
  • Strong analytical skills to review board papers and provide insight or support
  • Ability to work in fluid and ambiguous situations by being flexible and adaptable
  • Strong influencing and relationship management skills with the confidence to interact and present to all levels of the organisation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A team player, willing to contribute as necessary to deliver project outcomes of a high standard and to drive the increasing maturity of MBIE's delivery functions
  • Experience in a project/programme environment is preferred
