Āu Mahi | What You Will Do

We are seeking a driven Department Administrator to join the Department of Mechanical Engineering, where you will be responsible for providing a range of professional and efficient administrative services to our staff, students and visitors.

In this role, you will be responsible for administering the Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes within the department.

You will support the promotion of the Department by engaging in understanding the operations of the Department and its staff and building proactive relationships.


Mōu | Who You Are
To be successful in this role, you will have significant experience in an administrative role with a strong customer focus, as well as the following:

  • Experience working within a large, complex environment, ideally within the Tertiary Education industry, or other education-related field
  • Experience using and managing database systems and internet research techniques
  • Sound experience in meeting and minute taking protocols, as well as experience organising functions and events
  • An eye for detail and the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy
  • The ability to prioritise and manage competing demands


Able to work both independently and as part of a team, you will be a natural communicator with excellent written and oral skills.

With organisation as your strong point, you will have the ability to cope with competing demands, plan, and prioritise workflow effectively whilst ensuring a high level of accuracy and maintaining confidentiality.
