Wellington, Wellington, New Zealand New Zealand Government Full time

The Office of the Auditor-General | Te Mana Arotake(the Office) aims to improve trust and confidence in the public sector.

The Auditor-General is the statutory auditor of all public organisations, playing a major part in ensuring that New Zealand's public sector remains one of the most trusted in the world.

We're looking for a Manager, Strategy and Performance to lead the Office's strategic advice, planning, governance, and reporting.

This is a critical leadership role, managing a team that shapes the direction of the Office's work and advises on approaches to achieve our key objectives.

The opportunity for broader influence is vast; no other organisation, public or private, has the overview of the whole public sector that the Office of the Auditor-General has.

In this role, you'll be responsible for providing timely and effective support to our senior leaders by leading the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of the Office's strategy, business planning, governance arrangements, and reporting systems.

You'll lead a small team and contribute directly to our work programme.

To succeed in this role, you'll have:

  • relevant tertiary qualification;
- experience in organisational strategy development, business planning, project and programme management, performance reporting, and governance and accountability;
- a sound understanding of the system and operation of government and public management in New Zealand;
- an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and te ao Māori;
- experience leading high-performing teams; and
- excellent interpersonal skills and strong relationship management skills.

We offer our staff:

  • Learning and development opportunities.
  • Flexible working.
  • Health and wellbeing benefits.
  • A unique operating environment with Parliament.
What we stand for
People matter | Our independence is critical | We act with integrity and courage | We're here to make a difference
Applications close Sunday 23 June, 2024.
