About the Team:


Organisational Planning, Performance and Governance (OPPG) is a team that provides important services to the Chief Executive, the Leadership Team and Ministers in relation to organisational strategic planning and decision making, governance and budget processes.

We do this by providing technical advice and governance support to the Leadership Team, through the delivery of core accountability products such as the Statement of Intent and Annual Report, through the development of the performance framework and related reporting, and through managing the development and submission of Estimates measures and Budget bids.

The OPPG unit supports the wider Ministry to align work programmes and priorities to deliver to the intent of Te Pae Tawhiti - 'Our Future'.


About the Role:


The Advisor Strategy & Performance, as part of the Strategy & Performance team, will be involved in a range of projects that support MSD develop and deliver its organisational strategy, and support its planning, reporting and accountability processes.

On a day to day basis this will include being involved in production of the core accountability documents - such as the Annual Report and quarterly reports.


About You:

We are looking for someone that is comfortable working in an agile, customer centric and intelligence-led environment.

The role is suitable to someone who is a good writer, who can operate at speed in a changing environment, and has an analytical and continuous improvement mindset.


You will bring:

  • Great written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong relationship skills
  • A proven ability to effectively manage multiple tasks with a focus on excellence and delivery
  • Interest in embedding Te Ao Māori (te reo Māori, tikanga, kawa, Te Tiriti o Waitangi) into your work
  • A cando attitude, comfortable working collaboratively and flexibly to meet team priorities
  • Some experience of working in government or other large organisation would be helpful
  • Together with a Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent work experience
