At DataTorque we are dedicated to driving significant business transformation for governments worldwide through technology. We are now seeking an experienced IT Project Director to join our team and lead large-scale software transformation projects.

Job Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled solution-focused IT Project Director with a proven track record of managing large transformation projects valued at $10-20 million or more. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in complex software implementation, project governance, leadership and financial management. Experience in finance or tax would be a valuable asset.

The Role:

Strategically leading project implementation by effectively managing risk, resource constraints, and budget.

  • Do you have the ability to detect unstated assumptions?

Responsibilities:

  • To lead and manage large-scale IT transformation projects from inception to completion, ensuring they were delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
  • Establish and maintain robust project governance frameworks to ensure accountability and effective decision-making.
  • Oversee project planning, resource allocation, and team coordination, ensuring all project milestones are met.
  • Manage project budgets, track financial performance, and ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, deliverables, and success criteria.
  • Ensure effective risk management by identifying potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Drive software implementation projects, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and processes.
  • Provide regular project updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence within the project team.

Experience:

  • Extensive experience managing large transformation projects valued at $10-20 million or more.
  • Strong background in project governance and team leadership.
  • Financially astute with experience in managing project budgets and financial performance.
  • Proven experience in software implementation and integration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Experience in finance or tax is highly beneficial.
